Banchory Academy

School Captains

I’m Tegan and I am one of Banchory Academy’s School Captains this year. I am really looking forward to the year ahead and to helping our school and pupils get back to the new kind of ‘normal’ following the pandemic. Rowing is a big part of my life, so I would love to use this year as an opportunity to drive the participation in sports and activities throughout the school. I hope to help people make the most out of their school experience, as I have found that having fun and working hard has made the last 5 years of school fly by!

My name is Hannah and it’s a huge privilege to be one of your school captains this year. In my spare time you could find me either behind a drum kit, having an Indian Takeaway with my friends, or in my bed! One of my main goals is to ensure all students here at Banchory Academy feel they can use their voices to make the changes they want to see. I really want to be able to work closely with you all to create a warming and encouraging environment around the school. I'm confident that Tegan and I will represent the school well and provide strong support for the leadership team. Cheers to the year to come!

Forget-Me-Not Club Sponsored Cycle

On the 11th of October a small group of S5 raised money for Banchory's Forget-Me-Not Club by cycling from Banchory to Potarch and back along the Deeside Way.

Forget me not, as well as providing activities for people with dementia, Forget-Me-Not also advises and educates carers on the complexities of the disease. Providing information and knowledge of things that can be done to help, from coping strategies to financial and other resources available, allowing clients to stay in their own homes for longer.

The Forget-Me-Not Club currently provides over 600 hours of free care per week, only taking donations and relying on fundraising in order to provide our varied and extensive services. We strive provide a life line for families living with dementia and to make our community as dementia friendly as possible.
